La Moine Emergency Amateur Radio Club Meeting Minutes, August 9, 2005 Present: Rolla, WB9HVD Mac, N9RGF Kevin, KB9EBJ Joe, AG9Y Max, AC4YH Ken, KC9ERB At the beginning of the August meeting the previous month’s minutes and the treasurer’s report were read and accepted as read. Old Business: Joe brought in a newspaper article published by the Macomb Eagle that featured the activities of club members who participated in Cub Scout day camp activities in June. Joe also reported to the membership on the activities and passed around a thank you note that he had received from Alexandra Harrison, a Boy Scouts representative. The participation of LEARC members was much appreciated. New Business: A member of the Quincy ham radio club has contacted Joe regarding the use of a digipeater antenna currently in LEARC’s possession which is not in use at this time. The Quincy club is interested in expanding the area covered by an APRS node they have installed and inquired about reactivating the digipeater antenna with with their equipment. There would be no expense to LEARC. A motion was passed to allow this to happen and Joe will inform the Quincy club of this action. Ken expressed concerns regarding declining membership and suggested an informational mailing to area amateurs in the form of mock QSL cards. Those present expressed general agreement with this idea, though no firm plans were laid. Ken will follow-up and report to the club. The meeting was adjourned following discussion of these items.
